Another lazy weekend

What??? I'm innocent!
Sweet smile
Preparing to slide
Trying out the new play equipment

Hi Mama!
Future Rams player
He is just like the cat, loves to get in places that he is too big for!!

Last weekend was another lazy weekend in the Lewis house. We got out a little but mostly puttered around the house. Mom and I went and picked up a Little Tikes climber/slide from Aunt Chris. Alison used it when she was little and they are letting us borrow it for a while. Chase loves it.....climbing, sliding, underneath it. He is having a great time with it.

Chase continues to get smarter and smarter each day (no bias here!). He has a book of animals that he can say by name about 1/2 of the animals but when you ask him what animal is which, he can point out about 99% of them. He is just repeating things left and right.....please, thank you, love you, just about anything you ask him to say, he attempts. He loves to try and help me cook. He was helping me mix pancake batter and loved it. I gave him his own bowl and tiny bit of raw mix, turned around and he was trying to eat it! He rarely wants you to feed him anymore, he wants to try it on his own. He loves watching cartoons and can say Spongebob, Diego and Dora when he sees them on TV. He loves to slide down the stairs on his belly to get to the bottom and thinks he has to hold the bannister when going up the stairs.

He is just growing before our eyes and becoming such a little man. He is going to be 2 before we know it!!

Lazy Labor Day Weekend

Building stuff
Giddy up daddy!

Chef Chase
Showing Great Grandma his toys

We really sat on our duffs this weekend and didn't do much of anything. I blame the dreary and yucky weather on Saturday for getting us in the rut that lasted all weekend. But it was really nice not to go.go.go all weekend long. We stayed in, played and wore pjs a lot!! Oh well, gotta do that sometimes! It felt good but I still wasn't ready to go back to work on Tuesday.

Chase started with a runny nose and sneezing on Saturday, then stuffed up nose and coughing on Sunday. We think it is allergies since we are all doing the same thing too. He is pretty tired of us wiping his nose, that's for sure. He hasn't been sleeping that great either at night...but on Monday, he took a 3 hour nap....never happened before...guess he was pooped. Last night was a little better, so hopefully he is on the mend and feeling good by this weekend at the Lake. He has lots of playing and entertaining to do!

Cousins

He's probably saying "wow" or "whoa"
That look
The "Gavinator"
And this is how this works.....
Coming down the slide
The boys playing cars
Playing under the fort
Big man on the steps

Chase and I got together with Beth and Gavin over the weekend. It was so fun to see them actually play together, interact and chase and imitate each other. It was like a switch just flipped and they realized playing together is much more fun! We made many attempts to get them to sit side by side...but it wasn't happening! They had fun regardless!

18 month stats

Oh, forgot to post stats from Chase's 18 month appt. It was not a good one...he cried the entire time in the patient room.....he was fine before and after, but not during. And he didn't even get any shots.

Height - 33 3/4 inches; Weight - 33lbs 11oz; Head Circumference - 49 1/2 inches. He jumped off the charts on weight, was in the 85 percentile for height. I don't think he weighed that much....the scale showed anywhere from 30 -33 lbs because he would not sit still and kept grabbing for me. So, while he is a big boy, I don't think he is quite 33 lbs!

So, every once in a while, a little extra free time actually coincides with a mood to scrapbook, so I have a few pages to post. This blog has actually been a great asset, as I can go back and use the entries as a mental diary of sorts and can remember what we did and Chase did from week to week. You can click on the pictures for closeups...

Lots of pics

Preparing to slide
Trouble is also his first name!

Always on the go!
Ready, set, go!

Love this pose...drinking milk, watching TV, crossing his feet

Lots of new pictures to share. Last week, Chase ran a fever off and on for a few days, we think it was associated with teething because he had no other symptoms. It broke Wednesday overnight and he has not had one since....kids...they are weird little people sometimes. I think he is still hurting with his teeth though. He is sleeping pretty good until about 5am when he starts in with this moaning and whining....all while his eyes are closed and he is basically asleep. Not sure what that is about. We try and let him go for a while but since we can't sleep either, we ususally bring him in bed with us around 6 and he goes fast asleep at that point. I think maybe he has us buffaloed (is that a word??) and just wants to get in bed with us. Oh well, at least we get to sleep a little longer.
This weekend we spent a lot of time outside since it was such beautiful weather. We took lots of drives, walked around up at the Capitol, walked around JC lake and just played outside. Granny got a Little Tikes slide at a garage sale that he loves playing on too.
