First night away

Tuesday morning I had to leave for a staff retreat at Trout Lodge in Potosi. It was a really fun time, we did lots of team building exercises and at the end got to do the zip line....fun going down, not so fun going up. We had to climb a 35 ft telephone pole, scale a couple of platforms and stand up on top...a little scary even though I am not usually scared of heights. Then we zipped for 500 ft, that was fun. I will have to add pics later.

Anyway, it was my first night away from Chase and it was a little rough. I did sleep with the help of some tylenol pm! Famous did great despite Chase having a stuffy and runny nose and a cough. He didn't get much sleep so they were both pretty tired last night.

Time flies

Boy, does time fly....seems like the only time we get to take pictures is on the weekends. These pictures are no different.
-Chase in one of his many Cardinals outfits
-Trying out his new exersaucer that the salon girls got for him...he can barely touch the bottom but he seemed to really like it!
-Couple pics of his cute smile
-Me and my dad!

Bathtime and sleeping

A couple pictures from bathtime last week. He generally loves the bath and it is not so traumatic now that we get him into some warm towels afterwards...it used to be really bad until we realized it was really cold for him and he was screaming bloody murder because of it. Last night, he did good til the end and I just think he was tired. In other news, he slept really well last night and I hope that it continues to get even better. Over the weekend, we decided the sleeping in the carseat had to stop. He slept really well in it, but at the end of a nap when he was waking up, he would arch his back and get sideways in it and we would usually find him wrapped in his blankets with his head where his butt should be. Too many times of that and we had to do something.
We tried swaddled and sleeping on his back....not a good night. He hates the swaddle unless he is in a deep sleep. We tried unswaddled on his back...not good either. He just startles himself awake and then can't get back to sleep. We tried his side...not good. He just rolled on his back and got mad. So this weekend, we had him sleeping on his belly, which he has done a lot for naps, just not through the night. It went well, but he usually has to be in a deep sleep to not wake up. But last night went very well. He ate at 6, went to sleep at 8, slept til 12:30, ate and back to sleep, woke at 4:30, ate and back to sleep and we had to wake him this morning. So I only hope this will continue and get some longer stretches out of him...mom and dad are ready for a longer stretch of sleep!!

From the weekend

Boy, how the weekends fly by these days! So much to do and so little time! I worked at the salon on Saturday and we went to Kevin and Shelle's for a salon BBQ that night. Chase loves to be outside, so he had a good time too!

Mama's Smile

Everytime someone sees Chase or a picture of him now, they say how much he looks like Famous as he gets older. I agree and after all, he's a boy, so he should look like his dad! But this picture we got of him smiling reminded me of my favorite baby picture of me....you be the judge!!

My first Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was a very special one. Chase :) got me a neat necklace from Schaefer House and a pretty card that Dad helped him to pick out. We went to Grandma Joan's and then to Grandma & Grandpa Stokes' for dinner that night with Great Grandma Stokes too. Of course, did I get a picture of Chase and I together?? NO!

More pics

Got a new camera last week and I love it. Here are some pics! The first is straight out of the tub into his warm towels!! Then a closeup with Dad and outside Sunday with Mom while Dad was BBQing.

Smiles!

New pictures of Mr Man! Chase is smiling, cooing and talking up a storm now. It's like a switch just flipped and he started. First a picture of his sweet smile, then of him standing up and the last is of him and Dad playing Superman.
He is doing much better this week. For the past week or so, he has been doing some projectile spitting up and been really cranky after eating. I was convinced he had developed reflux. But we discovered that he kicked his eating into gear and was finishing his bottles in about 5 minutes flat. Then a light bulb went off.....he was eating too fast. When he came home from the hospital and started with regular bottles, we had to poke some holes in the nipple to make it easier for him to get the milk. Well I guess in the last week or so, he has just started being able to eat faster and it was too fast for his belly. We changed the nipples back to slow flow and we have a new baby!! Very little spit up now. I only wish it wouldn't have taken a week to figure it out!
