18 month stats

Oh, forgot to post stats from Chase's 18 month appt. It was not a good one...he cried the entire time in the patient room.....he was fine before and after, but not during. And he didn't even get any shots.

Height - 33 3/4 inches; Weight - 33lbs 11oz; Head Circumference - 49 1/2 inches. He jumped off the charts on weight, was in the 85 percentile for height. I don't think he weighed that much....the scale showed anywhere from 30 -33 lbs because he would not sit still and kept grabbing for me. So, while he is a big boy, I don't think he is quite 33 lbs!

So, every once in a while, a little extra free time actually coincides with a mood to scrapbook, so I have a few pages to post. This blog has actually been a great asset, as I can go back and use the entries as a mental diary of sorts and can remember what we did and Chase did from week to week. You can click on the pictures for closeups...

Lots of pics

Lots of new pictures to share. Last week, Chase ran a fever off and on for a few days, we think it was associated with teething because he had no other symptoms. It broke Wednesday overnight and he has not had one since....kids...they are weird little people sometimes. I think he is still hurting with his teeth though. He is sleeping pretty good until about 5am when he starts in with this moaning and whining....all while his eyes are closed and he is basically asleep. Not sure what that is about. We try and let him go for a while but since we can't sleep either, we ususally bring him in bed with us around 6 and he goes fast asleep at that point. I think maybe he has us buffaloed (is that a word??) and just wants to get in bed with us. Oh well, at least we get to sleep a little longer.
This weekend we spent a lot of time outside since it was such beautiful weather. We took lots of drives, walked around up at the Capitol, walked around JC lake and just played outside. Granny got a Little Tikes slide at a garage sale that he loves playing on too.

"Almost" 18 month pictures sneak peeks

A few sneak peek pictures from our session last weekend. It was pretty hot and humid at 10AM already and you can see with Chase's red cheeks that he was getting heated up! They turned out pretty good, can't wait to see the rest of them!

Where did the summer go?

He loves getting in the storage ottoman at Granny's house and
wants you to put the lid on top of him!

Hard to believe summer is almost over and school is ready to start next week around here. Seems like the last three months have flown by, but that is just how the days go now!

I know I say it every week, but Chase is just getting so smart...I know, all moms think this about their child, but he just amazes me everyday. For instance, last night, he was walking down the hallway, trying to read a book at the same time and about ran right into his gate. I said to him "you have to look up while your walking" and I turned around to notice him looking up at the ceiling. It amazed me because I just wonder how he know this stuff (and secondly, that he actually heard and did what I said!!). This morning, he was in bed with us and wanting to get "down", his new favorite word. Famous said "we have to change your clothes first and then you can get" and Chase finished his sentence by saying "down". His vocabulary just grows and grows and he says multiple syllable words like spongebob and watermelon and you know what he is saying. He recognizes pictures and calls them by name like apple, Elmo, cookie, bird. He just seems so young to know this stuff...maybe just to me...this is my first experience!

He loves to watch me cook in the kitchen and I basically have to put him on counter while I cook in order to get anything done. He likes to sample the food too! He is wanting to sit in regular chairs too and the other day he wanted to sit in the barstool in the kitchen. He sat and scribbled in his notepad for a while. Of course, as soon as I turn my back, he takes a dive to the floor. Luckily, I somewhat caught him and at least softened his fall to the floor. He cried for a few minutes, but I think he was scared more than he was hurt. He is a daredevil for sure and is diving and jumping into the beanbag, on the couch and in the bed. We got him a little tikes picnic table that he prefers to stand on top of, rather than sit at.

Not much to report

Watching cartoons intently
That's just so funny!
On the go!
Downtown St Louis
At the game

We haven't been up to too much lately, just taking it easy, doing some things around the house, yard work, etc. We had the cabinet guy come out and take measurements for new cabinets, etc for the kitchen. Still waiting on that number so we can look at the rest of the updates. We are going to do a new floor that extends into the dining room, new countertops & backsplash, new dishwasher and microwave too. We got a new refrigerator a couple of months ago, so not much more to do. I can't wait but am so dreading it at the same time. I know it is going to be such a mess and a pain, but I am just trying to think about the end result!

Mr Chase is still always on the move, doesn't sit still for long! Every once in a while he wants to snuggle or sit up in your lap, but I don't get too much of that, so I enjoy every minute that I do!

Saturday, Famous and I went to a Cardinals game with a couple of friends. It was a nice day, even kind of cool and a great game....we won! Seems like we lose everytime I go to a game, so that was a nice change!! Chase was supposed to spend the night with Granny & Grampa, but he wasn't feeling well. He had been quite cranky the last couple of days and we determined that he is teething again. Lots of drool and teeth grinding has been going on, some sleepless nights too. I was worried that it wouldn't be any better on Saturday night either. It wasn't, he just wasn't himself at all and was really restless, so we picked him up when we got back. I rocked him to sleep and he actually slept til 6:50am and then another hour in bed with us. Poor guy...you can just tell it hurts and ibuprofen does not seem to help all that much.

We get 18 month pictures taken this weekend, looking forward to having some outdoor shots too, the first time for those, so it should be fun.
